Bankruptcy Attorney Lead Generation using Pay Per Click Advertising

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

In today’s declining economy, Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and Chapter 7 Bankruptcy are unfortunately more commonplace for many Americans.  For almost a month now, I have been working with the American Bankruptcy Center doing lead generation for their member attorneys in Texas.

Marketing for bankruptcy lawyers is very different than marketing for a criminal defense lawyer in that many of the people who need the help are not criminals.  Many of their potential clients who file for bankruptcy will end up being able to keep their homes and vehicles, which is great.  If you ask me, it is much better to file for bankruptcy, admit that you are over your head, than to be evicted from your home or have your vehicle repossessed.  Anyways, back to the marketing.  When generating leads for bankruptcy attorneys, we must keep in mind that the potential clients are:

1. Embarrassed about the predicament they are in

2. Do not understand the differences in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

3. Are probably not looking to hire an attorney they find on the Internet

We have been keeping these factors in mind when marketing for the American Bankruptcy Center and have been successful.  I know that as we hone down the campaigns and refine what we are doing, the cost per lead should drop and our conversion rates should increase.  We are currently using the Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) on Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing to generate leads on a Landing Page type Lead Generation Website.  More updates to follow.
